Jorge Zalszupin | Dining Chairs (ca. 1970)
Set of 6 Rosewood Dining Chairs, circa 1970.
The chairs consist of stunning rosewood frames with original citrine leather back cushions and brand-new burnt orange mohair seat cushions. The chairs have been lovingly restored and are in wonderful condition for their age. They do show small areas of light cosmetic wear, mostly where the rosewood veneer was repaired on some of the seats. They are ready for use in a high-end interior.
Condition notes: Light, occasional wear. One chair has a small veneer chip on one side. Leather backs are original and have light wear in the form of minor scratches or fading. Newer mohair seat cushions.

Jorge Zalszupin (Brazilian, 1922-2020) was named one of Brazil’s most important designers of the twentieth century. He mastered the art of blending his European influences with the unique Brazilian aesthetic. Sensual yet geometric lines, organic shapes, precious woods, and fine leathers—his designs are a masterful example of impeccable woodworking, classical detailing, and functional elegance. His brand, l’Atelier, founded in the 1950s, is widely considered the benchmark for what we now call Brazilian Modernism. Passionate about the quality and variety of Brazilian woods, Zalszupin conceived his most remarkable designs by adapting forms and materials in an organic way, highlighting the beauty of Jacaranda, Rosewood, and Ironwood.

Leclaireur only accepts returns for small objects, lighting products, and furniture currently in stock. Items ineligible for return include special orders, opened items, items missing any of the original packaging, and custom-made items.
All returns require approval by Leclaireur in advance of return shipment. Returns are accepted within 7 days of receipt of your order. Items submitted for return must be in their original, unused condition, including original, unopened packaging. Please verify items are sufficiently packed and insured for their full amount. For orders that are not received in good condition, a restocking fee may be applied. Shipping costs are not refundable. Any return shipment costs incurred are the responsibility of the customer. Exchanged items will incur an additional shipping cost. Items returned outside of the 7 days from receipt of order at your shipping address will not be accepted.
