Muriel Maire was born in Paris, France and is living in Brittany since 20 years. She creates sculptural objects that combine several techniques such as weaving, basketwork, embroidery, crochet. Self-taught artist, her creative approach is characterized by the intuitive assembly of natural materials, plant fibers, driftwood, seed pods, dried flowers as well as recycled elements such as cardboard or fabric. Her work represents a contemporary craft that, while drawing inspiration from ancestral traditions, firmly belongs to our modern era. As an extension of her artistic work, Muriel also makes photographs of her creations, and thus highlights certain details of the realization.
