Philippe Hiquily (1925–2013) was a French modernist sculptor who spent a full decade creating abstract figurative sculptures before turning his attention in 1960 to crafting furniture from his preferred material, metal, as commissioned works for a handful of haute society peers. Today, his works are held in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Montreal, and they form part of some of the most important private art collections in the world.
